This presentation will explore how Le Mars came to be the site of a library that was funded by Andrew Carnegie, as well as how Le Mars fits in to the bigger picture of Carnegie's funding for libraries throughout the state. 2026 is the 150th anniversary of public library service in Le Mars.
Speaker Dr. Shana Stuart, Ph.D., MLIS, a visiting faculty at Cornell College, has been the director of the Carnegie Libraries in Iowa Project since 2004.
This event is free and open to the public.
